A ray of light beyond the despair, anguish and sorrow. My Dying Bride, the leading force of British death/doom metal, shoots an arrow through the soul. The Thirteenth Doctrine of the Holy Spirit.
Formed in 1990, My Dying Bride, along with Paradise Lost and Anathema, have formed the golden triangle of British death/doom metal.
Andrew Craihan (guitar) and Aaron Stainthorpe (vocals) as the band's axis They have earned the trust of fans around the world with their deep-sinking heaviness. While the other two bands have strayed from their early death/doom sound, they've been able to create a jet-black worldview with They are stubbornly consistent.
His thirteenth album, The Ghost of Orion, was made in the midst of anguish. After the release of his last album, Feel the Misery (2015), Aaron's five-year-old beloved daughter was diagnosed with cancer. He is forced to battle a disease he describes as "God's bitter, loveless and most brutal creation". (Fortunately, things are going well.) The band also suffered an incident where two members suddenly left the band. However, the band went through a long and dark tunnel, and completed the new album with new members. The band left their longtime home of "Peaceville Records" for one of the biggest metal labels in the world. We'll be releasing it on Nuclear Blast.
Aaron says of the new album:. "This is a rich journey where only My Dying Bride knows how to create. It is marked by an aggressive, aesthetic and somber harmony never seen before. In a dramatic development, the madness and anger of a death metal vocal that damages the internal organs brings a terrible edge."
The title of this album is the spirit of Orion, the son of the god who died from an arrow shot by Artemis, the goddess in Greek mythology. "Your Broken Shore" which was released as a leader track ahead of the album, is one of the new representative songs which was born 30 years after the formation, where the suffocating deep bass and sad strings are mixed.
Wardruna vocalist Lindy Fay Hella's spellbinding female voice chanting The Solace," the 10+ minute dark epic "The Long Black Land, The tension is never broken for a moment, such as on "The Old Earth". Aaron "brings all the passion, power and fortitude to create the most thoughtful heavy music spirit," he explains, and it's working beautifully. Mark Mynette, who has worked on Paradise Lost and Rotting Christ He produced, engineered and mixed the album. Cover art for Testament, Fleshgod Apocalypse, SIGH and others. It is by Eriran Kantor who has been in the past. It's heavy, intense, and sad. The dark hegemony of My Dying Bride remains unchallenged in the 2020s.
