SHORTINO
Paul Shortino (Vocals)
Nozomu Wakai (Guitar)

Paul Shortino, the heavyweight of LA Metal, presents the best Las Vegas Hard Rock with Nozomu Wakai!

Paul Shortino is the main singer of LA metal who has been working with Rough Cut, Quiet Riot, King Cobra and others since 1980s. He was recognized by Ronnie James Dio early on and appeared in the legendary film Spinal Tap (1984). In Japan, they have been on the big stage as well, performing at "SUPER ROCK 85" (1985) and "JAPAN AID 2" (1987). Based in Las Vegas in recent years, he has always been at the forefront of the music scene as the main vocalist with Robin McCauley [Michael Schenkerfest] at the all-star rock event "Raiding the Rock Vault".

As Shortino, he released his first album in 2009, produced by Michael Voss.

And Nozomu Wakai is a new generation of guitar heroes who is attracting the attention of the world. He produced the album METAL SOULS (2018) as Nozomu Wakai's DESTINIA with Ronnie Romero [vocals/Richie Blackmore's Rainbow / Michael Schenkerfest / Vandenberg], Tommy Aldridge [drums/Whitesnake / Ozzy Osbourne Band] and Marco Mendoza [bass/Whitesnake / Blue Murderer / The Dead Daisies], and his classic modern style gained worldwide acclaim. More recently, he has contributed songs to Alcatrazz.

Paul and Wakai joined forces for the first time at the "Steel Festival Vol. 2" in Tokai City in Japan in November 2016. This show was so well received that in June 2017, the band played a solo show in Japan in Tokyo and Osaka as the Paul Shortino Band. They felt a mutual musical chemistry, and Wakai traveled to the United States to Las Vegas to begin work on a studio album. The result is "Make-A-Wish". Paul and Wakai collaborated fully on this album, which is colored by positive messages and moving melodies throughout the album.

Uplifting hard numbers like "Shout and Pride" and "Rise Up and Be Strong" are filled with the pride and grit of a rocker who is moving forward with his heart. Paul's shouting and Wakai's soaring guitar playing are also in great shape.
The album title track "Make a Wish" is a heartfelt ballad about lovers who wish for a star, and Paul and his convincing voice and Wakai's emotional lead play will light a fire in your heart. In addition, Eyes of the Wizard and Nocturnal present a dark fantasy-like worldview that takes on the soul of the late Ronnie James Dio.
"Send in the Crowns" is a musical number best known for being sung by Frank Sinatra, but it's brilliantly revived as a heavy version. Recently, it was used in the film The Joker (2019), which brought it into new limelight, and it is a timely cover that is exactly in tune with the times.

It's also an all-star album that brings together two musicians whose spirits resonate with each other.
The late Vinnie Paul [Drums | Pantera], who lived in Las Vegas and sadly passed away, is one of the highlights of this album. The beat he bursts into on "Send in the Crowns" is full of eternal life.

In addition, Peter Baltes[bass | Accept], Phil Soussan[bass | Ozzy Osbourne], Jay Schellen[drums | Yes], Marco Mendoza[bass | DESTINIA], Doug Aldrich[guitar | Whitesnake / Dio / The Dead Daisies], Carlos Cavazo[guitar | Quiet Riot], Rowan Robertson[guitar | Dio], Uriah Duffy[bass | Whitesnake], and many other Las Vegas musicians joined the album. It's a flowery addition to Las Vegas hard rock.

Make a Wish is the culmination of Paul Shortino's own work, and a masterpiece of Las Vegas hard rock that incorporates the next generation of Nozomu Wakai!
