San Francisco became the mecca of thrash metal overnight by launching Metallica. Testament is one of the bands representing that Bay Area. Their formation dates back to 1983. Back then, they were called Legacy, with Steve “Zetro” Souza as frontman. In 1986, Steve was recruited by Exodus, leading to the addition of current vocalist Chuck Billy. Additionally, due to the existence of a jazz band with the same name, they changed their name to Testament. In 1987, they released their legendary debut album, "The Legacy," on Megaforce Records. This was a period when the Bay Area scene was receiving significant attention following the massive commercial success of Metallica's "Master of Puppets." Testament quickly became a hugely popular band. They continued to run at the forefront of the scene throughout the 90s metal dark age, avoiding confusion or disbandment. Now, Testament's new album is being released.

Titled ‘Para Bellum’, this is their first new work in five years since "Titans of Creation" (2020). Alex Skolnick's fluid guitar, Steve Di Giorgio's technical bass, and Chuck's powerful roar. Naturally, it's packed with more thrash metal than anyone could hope for. Blast beats erupt from the first track, delivering more aggression than ever, while their signature melodic twin leads and ballad-like songs remain intact. Even after over 40 years of activity, their momentum shows no signs of slowing!
The second day of their 2023 Japan tour featured an ultra-special set exclusive to "The Legacy" and "The New Order" (1988). A Japan-exclusive super special version, bundling a CD/DVD/BD capturing this night's performance, is now available!
